I don't have time to transcribe these, so you'll just have to listen to and compare what is said in each. The depth of mainstream media lying about Haiti, when they bother to mention anything at all -- including on ``liberal'' NPR -- is staggering. NPR adopts the ``gang'' motif in describing the majority Lavalas party, while ignoring the butchery that is currently going on. At one point in the NPR story, Fr. Gerard Jean-Juste -- again imprisoned on trumped-up charges -- is described as ``ultra-radical''. NPR fails to report any of the facts of his arrest, or make any connections to the political situation. Outrageously sickening...

Times of London: Saddam's germ war plot traced to UK cow

Extraordinary research on US/UK support for Iraq bioweapons by friend of Deep Blade Journal Geoffrey Holland hits the mainstream

An August 9 story published in the Times of London has reported facts concerning the source of a key 1980s anthrax shipment from the United States to Saddam Hussein's Iraq. This history was revealed several weeks ago in a white paper posted at Deep Blade Journal. Please click here to open the post and obtain the 21-page white paper.

A UK MP is quoted in the Times story, ``It just makes them [the US administration] look more hypocritical than ever''.

True. These revelations about US support for Iraq's unconventional weapons during the period of Saddam Hussein's worst atrocities line up right along with the documentary evidence in the Downing Street memos that Bush and Blair had taken the decision to go to war in 2002 and use false premises about Saddam's weapons programs to obtain acquiescence for the attack. Of course, the hypocrisy is multiplied because the weapons dangers from Iraq cited by Bush, Blair, and other officials in 2002, 2003, and beyond as justification for the war derived from support their own governments provided.

We took a road trip to western Maine today. The area east of Farmington has quite a few of Maine's many... farms. Will shrinking oil supplies lead to a resurgence in the US of agriculture based on human and animal power? Tools like those shown in the picture may come into use again.

While President Bush enjoys his prodigious vacation at the Texas ranch (after a few parting shots at evolution), Bolton begins to terrorize the world's diplomats, and the US and world media fawn over the dead body of King Faud, we thought it would be good for us to follow the Chimperor's lead and take August to relax a bit from all the hubbub.

Fortunately for us, we're already in ``Vacationland''. So we were able to spend our tenth anniversary in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park (see photo). We have family and friends stopping by for visits to. Later in the month, we will be heading for Canada, the Great Lakes, and the Midwest.

I do have a post coming along on the Rush to Bomb. This will show how the US policy makers who insisted upon the atrocities of the nuclear incinerations of Hiroshima and Nagasaki set the tone for so many US foreign policy ``quick solutions'' of the last sixty years. Everywhere from Vietnam to Panama to Iraq, innocent civilians have fallen under the incendiary technology of the United States, ordered by Americans who have figured that rapid resort to a rain of fire is best.

But that's just for the anniversary coming up this Saturday. We'll be active, with a demonstration and reading at the Bangor Public Library which will actually take place Friday August 5 from 11:15 AM to 12:30 PM. I'll post a couple of photos too.

Terror War breeds terror

Can I make this short and simple?

The rightist blog Neognostikos has picked up on my previous post about Thomas Friedman, anti-Muslim propaganda, and the ``excuse'' rhetoric being used by officials to shut off debate about the failure of the Terror War to prevent terrorism.

When I tried to explain how there is quenching of ``public discourse on the extreme violence that emanates from the US-run Terror War itself'', I was not understood.

I agree. Some of my text is too convoluted to follow easily. Here, I'll try one of the main points again:

THE US-RUN TERROR WAR IS EXTREMELY VIOLENT ITSELF, SO IT BREEDS TERRORISM.
